Nothing can add to our intellect more than reading a book. We can experience new things in books, that normally we would not be able to experience. The combination of a book and an active imagination, results in us being able to go out to other, different worlds. Books can even have the power to change our lives. Reading can inspire us to develop and achieve great things. We as individuals are capable of inventing and putting new ideas onto paper, we can create manuals to teach others how to save lives, write books to educate our children about history, or other cultures, the world around us and maybe even set up new laws that will forever change our lives and the lives of others. There is no doubt, that without reading we would not know as much as we know today. We have educated ourselves beyond our ancestors by reading and studying books, and even today we still depend a lot on the written word. We constantly read about healthcare, cooking, fixing things etc. With the help of instruction manuals, we learn how to use new inventions.
