Budowanie odporności lidera w obliczu kryzysu
The answer to the contemporary VUCA world and the ongoing crises seems to be resilience: the one strength that allows us to bend without breaking, bounce back from change and grow instead of crumbling. What makes a resilient leader and how can this skill be enhanced?

The word “crisis” has been tossed around by media and organisations since the beginning of the pandemic and even more so since the onset of the war in Ukraine. It has become a cliché to say that we need resilient leaders and teams that won’t break in the face of adversity, but will be able to grow from it. Let us reach beyond clichés and check what crisis and resilience mean.
The APA Dictionary of Psychology defines crisis as: “a situation that produces significant cognitive or emotional stress in those involved in it”. Moreover, developmental psychologists point out that crisis is a moment when the status quo, the existing system or the current mode of operation is no longer applicable or sufficient and the individual or group affected must seek new ways of operating. Crisis is therefore a stressful situation which might give rise to negative consequences, but also, with adequate support and resources, one that will help an organisation or individual take stock, gain new skills, become more resilient and sometimes completely transform their identity.
