Efficient CV urgently needed
Let’s start with an anecdote. A company intended to employ a new sales representative. They placed an advert in a number of newspapers and received about two hundred applications. The head of the sales department obviously wanted to choose the best candidate but was not very eager to read hundreds of CVs, which she expected to be similar to one another and terribly boring. She always trusted her instincts and knew that only by meeting the candidates face to face can she find the best person for the job. But arranging two hundred interviews seemed to be a daunting, if not impossible, challenge. She decided to call the HR department and asked for advice. The head of the HR was ready to help and told her to bring all applications to his office. Then, he took them and out of the sudden tossed them in the air. As the sheets of paper were falling down he managed to catch a few of them in midair, allowing the rest to land on the floor. He handed his lot to the puzzled sales manager saying that these were the candidates she should interview. As she still did not seem to understand anything of what had just happened in front of her eyes, he explained that these were the lucky candidates because out of two hundred applications he had grasped their very CVs and added that he was confident she did not want to employ any of the unlucky losers whose applications landed on the floor.
